Welcome to the Walters Public Library website.  Here we will update you on what is going on
in your library.  Plus we will inform you of the new books arriving and other special events.

Spring is on its way and so is the Walters Public Library Summer Reading program.  We have
set the schedule for the summer fun for every Monday June 4 - 25.  The age of the child depends
on what time of the day they will attend.  Check with the library for these times.

The month of March is considered National Women's History month as well as National Craft
Month.  Come by the library and check out the books about the many women of history as well
as find a new craft with our books on display.  We are also displaying musical books for music
in our schools month as well.

This month is Author Louis L'Amour, Phillip Roth, and John Updike's birthdays.  We have many
of their books for easy access to check out.  Louis L'Amour is a western writer with hundreds of
titles to his credit.  Phillip Roth is a Pulitzer Prize winning author who writes fiction.  John
Updike, a Harvard Graduate and fiction writer, has won the National Book Award, The
American Book Award, The National Book Critics Circle Award, The Rosenthal Award, The
Howells Medal as well as a Pulitzer Prize.  We wish these wonderful writers a Happy Birthday
and will enjoy their writing for many years to come.

We have received many new books in the last couple of months and you can find the list of these
new books on the Just in section of this website.  Remember if you have a book you would like
ordered please email us or stop by and we will try and get it for you.

So everyone enjoy these beautiful days and remember nothing relaxes you better than a good
book and some ice tea out in the sun.
